Tree Management Centre
Westonbirt Arboretum
An outlandish project on so many scales, I was extremely grateful to have taken part in the construction and raising of one of the two beautiful structures for the tree mmanagwement centre. Designed with Pierce Taylor’s architectural expertise, the construction which is set in the stunning grounds of Westonbirt Arboretum took roughly ten months to complete, gaining the prestigious RIBA National Award for architecture in 2017. Everything in this project was on a huge scale, from each clad panel we produce by hand holding roughly 200 screws, to raising the 20m span king trusses, weighing in at 4.5t, at times was a daunting experience! This project was completely different from the average timber framed house, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the different aspects of the eight months working on site.
